When transporting hazardous materials, there are important safety guidelines that must be followed to keep people safe. A department of transportation or similar entity is found in many countries, and it is likely the governing body that presides over the handling and transport of hazardous materials. Crooked labels are not approved. Not every single container must be labeled and placarded. Only a certain quantity and what is on the vehicle must receive placards for emergency response purposes.
